2020: The Russian Railway was connected by 234 stations to the IT system of remote control
The Russian Railway was connected by 234 stations to the IT system of remote control which laid the foundation for a single platform for passenger infrastructure. The railway carrier reported about it on October 12, 2020.
The automated system of remote control organizes a common information space of all life-supporting functions of the station: video surveillance and remote communication with the passenger, the loud-speaking notification, control of entrance groups, temperature condition, lighting, fire and security automatic equipment and also a possibility of remote correction of an information display with the train schedule.
All functions on control of work of the systems of the station are undertaken by the software, and monitoring and control of basic processes is exercised from the dispatching center. One manager manages several objects at once, setting parameters of opening/closing of stations, adjustments of the schedule output to a board, system operations of lighting, video monitoring, status monitoring of fire safety. The manager can also give to passengers necessary consultation by means of audio communication.
