DataDome passed to design into Autodesk Revit

2020: Transition to modeling to Autodesk Revit

On October 13, 2020 it became known that the integrator of the engineering DataDome systems passed to three-dimensional modeling and release of the work documentation into Autodesk Revit. The program is intended for design automation and construction on the basis of technology of information modeling of buildings (BIM).

This technology allows to integrate correctly the large volume of information on an object and its separate elements creating in total with technical and economic indicators a uniform information model at which change there is automatic recalculation of all specifications. Thanks to this BIM becomes a uniform resource of knowledge for obtaining information on an object — to its help there is a complex interaction of parties concerned at all stages of lifecycle of an object.

Creation of engineering structure of DPC requires high detailing of model, change tracking on each project stage and coordination of work of a large number of participants therefore for effective solution of these tasks we made the decision on increase in professional competences and use of BIM technology. The tools entered into work allow to observe in one environment balance between the engineering systems of data center and to approve their interposition, having excluded objects with excess reliability or functionality. Along with it the flexibility in decision making considerably increases, and as a result we receive the consolidated document in which creation all interested services take part.

In parallel with it specialists of DataDome also completed training at certified rates on work with the Autodesk Navisworks program. It allows to coordinate in real time models from different contractors, to visualize process of construction and with a high accuracy to warn potential problems even prior to project implementation.

As a result the portfolio of DataDome was replenished with the following work types in Autodesk Revit and Navisworks:

• information modeling of sections of the engineering systems;
• creation or use of families from producers;
• work with project templates;
• work on requirements to an information model (BEP, EIR);
• issue of the work documentation;
• drawing up specifications;
• exchange of tasks in the program;
• remote work through Autodesk Revit Server or BIM 360;
• check on a collision and issue of reports.

Design in BIM — one of priority points of the national program "Digital Economy of Russia" which implementation assumes reduction in cost in construction for 20%, and terms — for 30%. At the same time for October, 2020 in Russia information modeling is used by no more than 7% of the companies.
