Customers: Central enterprise for treatment of radioactive waste (TsPORO)

Government and social institutions

Product: Boston Dynamics Spot (before SpotMini)

Project date: 2020/10

In October, 2020 the robodog of Boston Dynamics was brought to Chernobyl for measurement of radiation. On the page on Facebook the State specialized enterprise "Central Enterprise for Treatment of Radioactive Waste" (GSP of "TsPORO") which tested the robot jointly with specialists of University of Bristol reported about it.

Using Spot measurements of radiation in points of localization and waste disposal "The red wood", "Podlesny" and Buryakovka were carried out. The gamma-ray spectrometer, hyper spectral and neutron sensors were used to identification of zones with radioactive pollution. The robot was helped by unmanned aerial vehicles, additional ground-based robotic systems and the sensor scanners.
