ER-Telecom Holding implements the federal project on connection of villagers to the Internet

2020: Construction of 6,700 kilometers of fiber lines of communication

JSC ER-Telecom Holding (TM "Дом.ru" and "Дом.ru Business") implements the federal project on connection of villagers in Russian regions to the high-speed Internet. The company reported about it on November 3, 2020.

In 10 months 2020 within the Country Internet project the company laid more than 6,700 kilometers of fiber lines of communication (GPON) and organized radio access points (WNGN **) to 301 localities, having given an opportunity to be connected to worldwide network more than 105,000 households.

In a number of localities (70% of all building in the private sector) ER-Telecom became the first operator who organized in the territory broadband access in the Internet. The most large-scale projects are implemented in the Saratov region (more than 26,000 houses), Leningrad (22,780), Volgograd (22,232), Samara (16,555) and Tambovskaya (11,800). Besides, the operator actively conducts construction in Moscow area.

Inhabitants of the private sector, small, remote localities and rural territories received equal online opportunities with residents of the large cities. Now they can also use telecom services at a speed up to 1 Gbps.

Development of country telecom infrastructure – a part of mass construction of communication networks which the Holding conducts through the whole country. In 2021 the company will continue project implementation, having provided Internet access for 550,000 households, - Kirill Pishchalnikov, the director of technical infrastructure of JSC ER-Telecom Holding comments.

In addition, in 13 regions of the Russian Federation ER-Telecom is a contractor of the public contract on connection to the Internet of the socially important objects (SIO). Within the first two stages, the operator handed over to the state customer of 8,907 objects. Until the end of 2021 the Holding is going to provide access to a data network to 6,408 more objects among which kindergartens, schools, hospitals, polling precincts, fire brigades, local government authorities and other organizations. The created infrastructure will allow to provide in parallel modern digital services and for residents of these settlements.
