Softline helped Synergy Systems to increase efficiency of project activity

On November 9, 2020 the Softline company reported that experts of Softline helped specialists of the Synergy Systems command to get acquainted with wide functionality of Autodesk BIM 360 Design and in the shortest possible time organized its delivery. Having implemented Autodesk BIM 360 Design, the organization managed to increase repeatedly efficiency of business processes, to start a number of difficult projects in the different countries and to effectively build remote work of employees. Six years' experience of Synergy Systems company in the field of architectural and construction design once again confirms reliability and high performance of cloud-solutions.

The Novosibirsk company Synergy Systems was created in 2014 by a team of professionals in the field of information modeling of the buildings having long-term experience of projects implementation in Russia and the USA. All work of the organization initially was based on remote interaction of the permanent employees which are in the different countries and regions of the Russian Federation. Before emergence of specialized services for remote work, such as BIM 360 Design, the companies was necessary to use a number of unspecialized tools, the file exchange systems and FTP. They did not solve all necessary problems, were rather unstable and did not allow to organize joint work at the desirable level in uniform digital space. It complicated interaction and data exchange. Particular problems arose with files of Revit and other BIM tools simultaneous multi-user access was necessary for work with which. In the conditions of actively developing digital market the company saw enormous potential in remote work and was in permanent search of the tools necessary for comprehensive process management of design and construction.

Thanks to the help of Softline, in 2016 the Synergy Systems company of one of the first in Russia implemented (C4R) and BIM 360 Team Collaboration for Revit services (the previous version of BIM 360 Design) in the activity. At this Synergy Systems received not only the software on the most advantageous conditions, but also professional consultations on a broad spectrum of the questions connected with functional features of products. Aiming to propose to the customers the best solution of any IT task, Softline annually increases the rates of cooperation with the Russian and foreign vendors, constantly updates a portfolio of software and services, analyzes trends of the market and follows them.

The product BIM 360 Team allowed Synergy Systems to optimize considerably processes of remote work and interaction with adjacent and contract organizations. But this break in increase in efficiency took place in 2017 with the advent of such solution as BIM 360 Design. It helped to improve considerably tools of remote work, synchronization of Revit-files and methodology of interaction of commands within one project. All Synergy Systems projects are at the moment implemented using BIM 360 services.

The BIM 360 Design tools give the chance to synchronize changes in model on the Internet without existence of a local network and the server. Other BIM 360 Design tools help to control access of the different contract and adjacent organizations, to synchronize data, tracing terms and quality of the transmitted data.

Corrections of an information model are in real time available to each participant of the working group having necessary access. The customers, builders controlling and the expert organizations can have access to viewing models in real time or within the regulated diagram. BIM 360 Design considerably simplifies and automates processes of exchange and verification of information within BIM processes.

As well as in a case with BIM 360 Team, the Softline company submitted within the shortest possible time to the customer of the license BIM 360 Design, provided technical support during a transient period, helped to develop recommendations and methodology of work for the staff of Synergy Systems. Implementation of the advanced software solutions is the creative joint work requiring close interaction between the project organizations and software developers.

Developing business relations with Autodesk, the Softline company created staff of highly qualified specialists in the field of the software for industrial and civil engineering. Experts of Softline organized a series of meetings with the management and the staff of Synergy Systems at which joint testing of a new product was held and also consultations on functionality of BIM 360 taking into account specifics of activity of the customer were given. Providing software licenses, Softline is always interested in long-term partnership and increase in efficiency of the clients.

Actively using the BIM 360 tools, the Synergy Systems company successfully implements large-scale projects. For example, together with JMT company the staff of Synergy Systems took part in work on a number of the administrative objects supporting work of the bridge in the State of Maryland. Five contract organizations were at the same time involved in the project, each of which worked on separate model of the section. Specialists of Synergy Systems were engaged in creation of standards of the customer for the project, the organization of BIM 360 services, access to information resources, booked audit of models and provided the general BIM-management of the project.

One more project executed using BIM 360 is connected with development of model of the largest expocenter in New York – Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Specialists of Synergy Systems created the digital double of the existing building, all systems are simulated, information more than 100 thousand elements of the engineering systems is prepared, simultaneous operation more than 40 employees who are in 11 cities of the world is ensured.

In addition to foreign, we now actively work also at the Russian market. For example, in St. Petersburg we, using functionality of BIM 360, we design the residential complex. Thanks to functionality of the program which to us was delivered by Softline we do not think any more of how our dispersed teams involved in one project will interact among themselves. Alas, very many project companies during the restrictions caused by epidemic suffered considerable financial losses because of inefficient transition to remote work. In spite of the fact that our specialists territorially are in Washington, Kiev, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg and still at least in 10 cities of Russia, we all quarantine continued to work in the normal mode. Customers continue to give us project information online. All models are created in a cloud. But here, from my point of view, it is necessary to make the important clause. Though the BIM 360 complex is ideal for the Russian project organizations for building of remote work, nevertheless in our country its potential is still not implemented fully. The English-speaking tool is actively used in the USA now, but I am sure that in the long term the next years it will become irreplaceable instruments of design and at us. Not only specialists, but also customers speak about convenience of using of the program. For example, our clients very much like the service allowing to compare new versions of models to earlier.
