2020: Project implementation Available Internet

РТКомм.РУ provided in use of PJSC MegaFon additional satellite channels with high capacity to 500 Mbps for project implementation Available Internet in the territory of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. Announced this РТКомм.РУ on November 19, 2020.

The Available Internet project in the territory of Chukotka is a part of the federal draft "Information Infrastructure" of the national program "Digital Economy of Russia" and is regulated by the agreements signed between telecom operators and Department of industrial policy of the Government of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.

The commercial director of RTKOMM Mikhail Mutterperl commented:

using the RTKOMM satellite channels of PJSC MegaFon was succeeded to implement the complex project which provided the solution of an important strategic problem of increase in level of availability of the Internet for citizens in the territory of Chukotka. Available Internet – one of such socially important projects, and we are glad to be useful to our partners providing informatization and communication for the population in hardly accessible and remote points of the country.

The director of the Magadan department of PJSC MegaFon Natalya Strelnikova noted:

More than a half of our subscribers on Chukotka actively use the mobile Internet which consumption in the last two years doubled. It is important for us that all chance which are given by the Internet that they did not feel torn off from other territories of the country were available to inhabitants of the region. Today more than 80% of residents of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug live in a coverage mobile communication from Megafon. At the same time access to the 4G-Internet has about 70% of the population. It is essential to increase this digit the project implemented using the RTKOMM high-speed satellite links allowed. Constructive partner interaction of Megafon and RTKOMM allowed to provide stable communication quality for our subscribers.
