On November 23, 2020 the DSS technology (Dynamic Spectrum Sharing, dynamic separation of a range) allowing to unroll a 5G network at the frequencies which are available for operators for 2G, 3G and 4G knew of the fast beginning of testing in Russia.
According to Kommersant with reference to the representative Research institute of radio (Federal State Unitary Enterprise NIIR), DSS on commercial network is going to test in December, 2020, and to complete testing — by March of the 2021st. After that (no later than June, 2021) results to an experiment will be transferred to State Radio Frequency Commission (SCRF).
The representative of Federal State Unitary Enterprise NIIR noted that during testings the equipment of Nokia, Huawei and Ericsson will be used. At the same time Mintsifra Maksut Shadayev's head said that will make the domestic equipment under these networks Rostec.
Rostec is determined as the basic contractor by ensuring production of the domestic equipment for a 5G. In this regard it is necessary to notify state corporation on the carried-out work — Maksut Shadayev said during the meeting of SCRF. |
At the beginning of November, 2020 Shadayev reported that the solution approved with the Ministry of Defence and other bodies was accepted, frequencies which can be used for deployment of 5G networks are received. Besides, the plan of carrying out conversion of a range is prepared and approved in order that to clean these frequencies from military means, having brought them in other ranges.
Besides, according to the concept of development of TV and radio broadcasting for 2020-2025 wrote that broadcasters are ready to give a part of the frequencies for a 5G if telecom operators compensate them costs for reconfiguration of TV-transmitters. Compensation to TV-broadcasters for release of a band in the range of 694-790 MHz for deployment of 5G networks can make about 2.1 billion rubles. Such preliminary estimate was given by Mintsifra's deputy head of the Russian Federation Oleg Ivanov according to the results of a meeting of State commission on radio frequencies (SCRF) on November 23, having specified that it is an unofficial position of the ministry.[1]
