2020: Connecting traffic lights to an automated traffic control system

RIR (Rusatom Infrastructure Solutions) on November 25, 2020 reported that about half of Sarov's traffic lights (Nizhny Novgorod Region) are connected to an automated traffic control system. The project is being implemented by RuSat Infrastructure Solutions JSC (RIR, part of the Rosatom state corporation) as part of the development of the Smart City platform. The system allows you to remotely control traffic lights depending on the road situation, redistribute traffic flows to less busy sections and take operational measures in case of emergencies.

The system interface is the corresponding service module on the Smart Sarov platform. It displays the road situation, traffic lights and the current mode of their operation, accidents, the level of congestion of roads, information from CCTV cameras. All information is available online, as well as with the ability to analyze for previous periods. This allows city services to identify the busiest or most emergency road sections in order to take preventive measures.
