At the beginning of December, 2020 it became known that China created infrastructure for delivery of vaccine against COVID-19 coronavirus worldwide. The project was implemented by logistic company Cainiao which belongs to Alibaba. With airline Ethiopian Airlines the agreement within which "the cold chain" for transportation of thermosensitive drugs from China to other states is created was signed. Air transportation will be performed from the airport of Shenzhen in which, according to Alibaba, there is the China's first cross-border medical refrigerating complex, two times a week to other countries through Dubai and Addis Ababa.
The Cainiao company which works more than in 200 countries and regions is engaged in creation of a route. The company achieved certification from the International Air Transport Association to implement the plan for transportation of vaccines against COVID-19 which need usually to be stored at low temperatures. For example, in premises systems with an opportunity to observe and control temperature conditions will be installed, and the cargo terminal of Ethiopia is equipped with the equipment which can maintain temperature ranging from -23 °C up to 25 °C or from-9.4 °F to 77 °F.
