Pyatigorsk will become a "smart city." This became known on December 3, 2020.

At the first stage of the Smart City project, 20 intelligent video cameras will be installed in Pyatigorsk, some of which are designed to recognize faces, some for identifying state registration marks of vehicles. By 2025, a large-scale local network of "smart" outdoor video surveillance will appear in the resort city, 350 cameras have been announced for final installation, the press service of the Pyatigorsk administration reports. As part of the project, "smart stops" will also appear in the city, where not only a multimedia information board will be installed, but also an emergency call button.

Pyatigorsk is not only a resort city, but also the strategic center of the entire North Caucasus, the capital of the North Caucasus Federal District. At the beginning of 2020 within the press conference the governor Stavropol krayavladimir Vladimirov announced introduction in the territory of the region of the departmental project of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation "Smart city". According to the head of the region, the digitalization of the urban economy will begin, including in the cities of KMV. The implementation of the smart city system will take place in three stages. Pyatigorsk has already begun to implement the digital concept. Digitization of the resort city will begin with strengthening public and environmental safety.

Smart City affects various sectors and sectors of urban economy and is a unifying link of national projects. It requires the maximum inclusion of regional and municipal authorities, partly rethinking approaches to managing and perceiving the city and the region as a single "organism," commented Elena Semenova, deputy director of FAU "Project Directorate of the Ministry of Construction of Russia." - Stavropol Territory actively engaged in the implementation of the principles of the "smart city." More and more cities in the region are becoming participants in the project and are beginning to digitally transform urban infrastructure and services. I am sure that the positive socio-economic effect of the implementation of the principles of the "smart city" will appear in the near future.

Already at the first stage, 20 "smart stops" will appear in the city, and by the end of the project in Pyatigorsk a total of 50 such stopping pavilions will be installed, another 150 public transport stops will be modernized with multimedia information boards.

Interactive city panels (kiosks) will be installed in the resort zone of Pyatigorsk - there will be 10 in total. They will help city guests get all the necessary information about the resort. And with the help of a special mobile application, it will be possible to navigate the scheme of public transport. call a taxi, find the right museum, cinema, cafe, restaurant or interesting route for a walk.

It is also planned to additionally equip communal equipment with the GLONASS tracking system. 76 municipal vehicles will be chipped with navigation satellite devices. As of December 2020, garbage containers are systematically switching to the "figure." According to the results of the program, about 2.5 thousand garbage containers in the city will be equipped with loading sensors. The MSW management system will be fixed on a favorable ecological plateau.
