Moscow buys servers and DWH for 1.3 billion rubles for medical institutions

At the end of November, 2020 Department of Information Technologies (DIT) of Moscow announced the tender for purchase of the server hardware and storage systems (DWH) for the amount more than 1.3 billion rubles for capital medical institutions. It is about the largest contract such.

Kommersant paid attention to this tender. The edition, referring to the technical documentation published on the website of state procurements writes that the winner of an auction will have to deliver until the end of January, 2021 in Information and analytical center in the field of health care of Moscow 128 servers in general on 4 Tbyte of RAM and 216 server racks with DWH on 749 Tbyte. At the same time the name of equipment manufacturer — Huawei appears in requirements.

DIT reported to the edition that the equipment is required for increase in computing powers and volume of the stored and processed information in hospitals of Moscow in connection with implementation of the Uniform medical information and analytical system. The requirement about supply of equipment of Huawei in department explained it with compatibility with the equipment installed earlier.

The chief executive of Association of developers and producers of electronics Ivan Pokrovsky considers that the choice of DIT of Moscow of the equipment of Huawei in the tender is unreasonable. According to him, the requirement to compatibility of the equipment is appropriate in the telecommunication sphere, but in server "iron" such problem can always be solved.
