2020: Infor EAM implementation
On December 23, 2020 the Infor company announced that the medico-pharmaceutical corporation Bayer is going to implement the solution Infor EAM. The division in the city of Bitterfeld, Germany will become the first platform where Infor EAM will be set. Bayer intends to optimize efficiency of operation of buildings, engineering infrastructure and production equipment that will allow to upgrade some business processes, to reduce costs and to optimize operational efficiency. The project will be implemented by the partner of Infor — RODIAS integrator. The solution will be deployed in a multi-user cloud environment, it will simplify integration of processes of contractors of Bayer into production cycles of the company. The cloud model of implementation will allow Bayer to lower load of the IT service as maintenance and timely updating of the solution will be provided by provider of service.
According to the company, on the production site in Bitterfelda divisions of Bayer Consumer Health and Bayer Pharmaceuticals produce nonprescription and prescription drugs. The decision on system implementation of management of fixed assets of the enterprise (EAM) in the company was made for several reasons. First of all Bayer was going to increase readiness of production capacities and the equipment, to reduce time of reaction and maintenance. Besides, the modern EAM solution allows to implement forecast model of service and in addition to optimize costs. The project in Bitterfelda will be pilot.
Infor EAM will be integrated with the existing Bayer ERP system, it will allow the staff of the company to manage lifecycle of all equipment used on production. At a deviation from a normal operation mode the specific item of equipment will be immediately noted as needing preventive maintenance. Thus it will be possible to avoid breakdowns on a production line and to reduce the costs connected with a production stop.
Faulty parts and nodes will quickly come to light using three-dimensional digital doubles. Detailed and exact digital instructions will be available to simplification of dismantling and installation of nodes in a system. Subcontractors of Bayer will be included in the digital processes connected with service using the special mobile platform. The platform will provide fixing of results, documentation and vising of all processes of maintenance, repair, cleaning and inspection of the equipment.
Rates of market growth gain steam in all industries. Naturally, it will increase requirements to production efficiency and to the IT infrastructure connected with production. Jörg Jung, the executive vice president of Infor in EMEA region noted |
Any large manufacturing enterprise is exposed to risk when the equipment fails. Modern production management systems reduce similar risks, in time providing necessary information and providing, thus, big transparency in respect of operational decision making. Michael Lex, the head of the RODIAS command and the Bayer project told |
