Biography

1991-1995

In 1991 Vladimir Christoff became the CEO of the Susuman mining and processing works. In 1995 Christoff took part in privatization of plant, having created holding which head company was JSC Susumanzoloto on its base.

2020: Death from a coronavirus

On December 24, 2020 Vladimir Christoff died at the age of 71 year. The owner of one of the largest gold mining companies in Russia Susumanzoloto in Moscow in infectious hospital "Kommunarka" from the complications connected with infection with COVID-19 coronavirus reports the Magadanskaya Pravda edition with reference to the CEO of HPAO "Susumanzoloto" Alexander Chugunov.

Kolyma lost one of the most outstanding people. Vladimir Christoff personally, the talented and firm hand added several pages to the history of the Magadan region. Vladimir Christoff was the only Russian businessman from Kolyma entering the list of the richest people of the country which keeps Forbes. The magazine estimates a fortune of the died entrepreneur in $500 million, Christoff is on the 192nd line of rating. It possessed about 65% of Susumanzoloto company. In addition to Hristova shareholders of the company are Lyubov Gerasimova (14.94%) and Association of business cooperation (14.45%) in which totally controlling stake belongs to Lyubov Hristova and Vladimir Christoff.

Christoff worked nearly 40 years at the gold mining enterprises of the Magadan region where there passed the way from the assistant driver of the excavator to the first director, the chairman of the board of directors. As notes RBC, Christoff constructed the business in the 1990s on the basis of the collapsed Magadan enterprises for gold mining.[1] [2]
