Bolivia buys 2.6 million doses of the Russian vaccine against a coronavirus COVID-19 "Satellite V". On December 30, 2020 the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF a sovereign fund of the Russian Federation) reported about it which signed the relevant contract with Head department on purchases and supply in the field of health care (Central de Abastecimiento y Suministros de Salud, CEASS) Plurinational State of Bolivia.
The ceremony of agreement signature was held during video conference with participation of the President of Bolivia Louis Alberto Ars Catacori, the Vice president David Chokeuank Sespedes, the Minister of Health and Sports Edgar Pozo of Valdivia, the CEO of CEASS Víctor Hugo Aguilar Frias, the associate director of the Latin American Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Belinsky and the CEO of RDIF Kirill Dmitriyev today.
Since the beginning of a pandemic in Bolivia caught a coronavirus of 157 thousand people. 9135 people died, 131 thousand infected recovered (data for the end of December, 2020).
Thanks to supply of the safe and highly effective vaccine "Sputnik of V" protection of more than 20% of the population of Bolivia will be provided. We expect cooperation increase on vaccine and with other states of the Latin American continent further — Kirill Dmitriyev said. |
At the end of December, 2020 the Brazilian company Uniao quimica addressed to National agency on sanitary inspection of Brazil (Anvisa) behind permission to carrying out in Brazil of the third stage of clinical trials of the vaccine "Sputnik of V". The request should be estimated within 72 hours. In supervisory authority the number of volunteers and the place where there will take place the research will have to check. Permission of the agency is necessary for registration of medicine for territories of the country.[1]
