2021: Position assignment of the chief executive officer of Kcell

On January 3, 2021 Yury Kharlamov started accomplishment of duties of the chief executive officer of Kcell, having released Kaspars Kukelis who directed the mobile operator about two years from this duty. The relevant decision was approved by Board of Directors on December 18, 2020.

Kharlamov is also appointed the acting as the chairman of the board of Kcell. He joined the board of the company on June 19, 2020, the term of its powers is determined till June 19, 2021.

Yury Kharlamov is the new CEO of the Kazakhstan mobile operator Kcell

The changed board of Kcell will look as follows:

  • Yury Kharlamov, board member, chief financial executive; acting as chairman of the board;
  • Sergey Eltsov, the board member, the executive director according to legal issues;
  • Askar Eserkegenov, board member, executive technical director.

According to the charter, no more than nine people can be a part of Board of Directors. Board members of the company choose one of their number as the chairman. Board members of the company can be re-elected as directors for the following term after their first election. In addition to development of strategy and the approval of development plans for the company the Board of Directors is responsible for decision making about creation of branches and representative offices, acquisition or alienation by the company of 10% and more actions. The Board of Directors represents the interests of shareholders and performs the general management of activity of the company.

The Board of Directors thanked Kaspars Kukelis for his contribution to development of Kcell, having noted that during its work the company could achieve considerable improvement of key financial and operational indicators. Kukelis passed to other work in the Kazakhtelecom group (it includes Kcell). His new position by the beginning of January, 2021 is unknown.[1]
