2021: Implementing AI within Classroom 4.0

On January 13, 2021, it became known that Tamkan University and ViewSonic Corporation introduced educational technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) as part of the Classroom 4.0 concept, creating an educational environment for the future. At one faculty - at the College of Innovative Technologies based on artificial intelligence - the Reality Fields platform appeared. A comprehensive solution developed by ViewSonic, which includes an interactive display ViewBoard, a digital education platform myViewBoard and built-in wireless technologies for presenting materials, allows the university to implement the Classroom 4.0 concept and conduct interactive classes in a digital environment in real time. Hands-on Labs uses an AI-based ViewSonic solution - myViewBoard Sens, which analyzes the emotional state of students and determines the environment in the audience. It improves the interaction between teachers and students and optimizes the learning process by optimizing the effectiveness of the Classroom 4.0 environment.

The AI-based College of Innovation's learning process is made effective by virtualizing educational programs that are available in Reality Fields. The training process uses modern AI technologies, the Internet of Things, big data, cloud and peripheral computing. During classes, a teacher can use the display ViewBoard and platform myViewBoard to present educational material in an unusual and memorable form, connect to a cloud platform to quickly find the necessary information, and use numerous interactive tools, such as tests and question-answer exercises, to diversify the educational process.

In addition, ViewBoard Cast wireless technology allows you to share information and work on a team regardless of the class scenario, which optimizes the interaction between the teacher and students. For example, a teacher can broadcast an image from a central display ViewBoard to other devices and synchronize them, and students can confidently and quickly exchange their own materials. During panel discussions, participants can transfer content from their devices to a central display. Summing up the lesson, the teacher can simultaneously display on the central display ViewBoard the results obtained by each group in screen separation mode.

The built-in AI technology myViewBoard Sens is installed in the Hands-on Labs practical laboratory and recognizes anger, sadness, indifference and happiness on the faces of students. Teachers can monitor the emotional state of the group on personal devices, such as smartphones, and adjust the educational process. Analysis data is uploaded to the cloud for subsequent evaluation of learning outcomes. myViewBoard Sens technology is also used with temperature, humidity, illumination (for example, brightness and color temperature), noise and motion sensors. These data give educators an idea of in which environment students' performance is improving, and allow them to make timely changes to the educational process in order to increase its effectiveness and optimize the educational environment.
