2021: Start of sales of the Somnox Sleep robot
In the middle of January, 2021 the Somnox Sleep robot who helps people to fall asleep with sleep disorders without drugs was presented at an exhibition of consumer CES electronics. His producer - the Dutch company Somnox which considers the purpose "improvement of sleep quality most naturally".
The founder of the company Julian Jagtenberg when developing the robot consulted with researchers of a dream. Somnox Sleep in a form reminds haricot, only five pounds weigh and makes slightly more than a foot in length. In a set for $600 the robot washing the body, the SD card, the charger and access to the Somnox application is delivered.
The robot helps the user to fall asleep, using several techniques. First, it reproduces a rhythm of breath of the sleeping person which is involuntarily adopted by the user embracing Somnox. The robot can also define a rhythm of breath of the user and adapt to it. Secondly, it reproduces the calming sounds, such as white noise or sounds of the nature. They can render the weakening effect and together with the set rhythm of breath help the person to relax.
Somnox Sleep is connected to the application through Bluetooth and is compatible to Android and iPhone. Thanks to it it can be configured under personal preferences: set a certain frequency of breath or select automatic adaptation of the robot, pick up the calming sounds and duration of work.
The Somnox Sleep robot is available worldwide, and the Somnox company offers free 30-day trial version. Most of observers note that the robot was pleasant to them though not all consider that it is ready to entry into the market. According to the researches Somnox, the people using the robot estimate sleep quality better, and they needed less time to fall asleep.[1]
