Softline helped "The Tambov bacon" to implement the digital analytical solution based on Qlik Sense

2020: Implementation of the digital solution for interactive data analysis

In September, 2020 the Softline company completed the project on implementation in Tambovsky bekon LLC (enters Rusagro group) the digital solution for interactive data analysis, the automated preparation of the reporting and visualization of quantitative indices of activity. Softline Group reported about it on January 27, 2021.

The product developed by specialists of Softline based on the Qlik Sense platform will be used by department of production a zhivka for carrying out complex economic evaluation of work and internal benchmarking of the pig factory farms. The solution will allow employees to refuse labor-consuming manual preparation of reports and also will help to increase final profitability of production sites due to providing exact and timely comparative data and their analysis at all stages of livestock production.

Continuous development of Tambov Bacon company within the last several years caused rapid growth of volumes data which needed to be analyzed and transformed to information, significant for business. It was required for the different purposes - job evaluations of production sites, the movement and number of animal, environmental risks, optimization of use of resources and ensuring compliance with environmental standards, etc. The company needed the powerful tool business analysts therefore in 2017 the management of Tambov Bacon decided to implement Business Intelligence (BI) the Qlik Sense system. This system had to provide regular creation analytical reportings and uniform access point to reliable information for increase in efficiency of acceptance of management decisions.

After a BI system was implemented, the company developed it by own forces. Gradually the needs for new analytical tools began to exceed internal opportunities for development that attraction of external examination demanded. In May, 2020 a choice was made for benefit of global provider of IT solutions and Softline services. The task to develop the complete solution on managerial financial and production accounting on the basis of Qlik Sense was set for Softline. The analytical solution covered 3 main stages of production process of the block of pig-breeding, 28 pig factory farms, 150 managerial indicators (cost, natural, specific) and credentials from several systems for 2 years.

Staff of services of controlling of the client even before start of the project in details worked methodology in which they were described logic of calculation of managerial indicators and required initial data. At the initial stage of the project specialists of "The Tambov bacon" and Softline jointly developed approach to design and the user properties of future product, having integrated examinations in different areas for achievement of width of vision. At a development stage consultants of provider used practice of rapid prototyping and live demonstration of progress. Such approach gave to the customer confidence that the project goes in the right direction, and allowed employees to begin to work independently with already ready functionality, without waiting for project finish. Thanks to such opportunities, the hidden defects in the existing measure calculation methodology were revealed, and their early detection by the client allowed to introduce amendments in the project course quickly.

Functionality of the created product will allow heads and specialists of "The Tambov bacon" to use intellectual visualization and end-to-end full-text search on all amount of data of managerial financial and production accounting. Thanks to the mechanism of associative indexing of data in RAM of the Qlik platform, users will be able to check hypotheses and to conduct researches on any trajectories and also to receive in real time the answers to questions proved "in numbers".

In any diagram or the table it is possible to make selection on the interesting element one mouse click or to add new information, using drag-and-drop. When imposing Qlik filters will instantly count everything yielded and will display results, along with it revealing and "highlighting" communications between values of data. As a result users can quickly make new hypotheses and at once, without delays to check them. It will help to perceive quickly important trends and exceptions of the general patterns in the studied business processes.
