2021: The announcement of a gas analyzer of Health Monitor for identification of COVID-19 at the person on an exhalation
On February 11, 2021 it became known of preparation of certification of the Health Monitor device intended for detection of a coronavirus of COVID-19 at the person on an exhalation. The device is developed by scientists of Institute of automatic equipment and an electrometry (IAIE) of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science jointly ScientificCoin company.
The method implemented in a system is based on sensitivity of color of a luminescence of electric discharge in gas to small impurity. Gas with a low pressure begins to shine if to connect two electrodes to it energized, and many substances have an individual luminescence. The person exhales a carbon dioxide gas with a large amount of impurity which concentration of separate substances, can change at different diseases.
The exhalation of the person represents complex mix from about 750 volatile compounds, a so-called print of metabolism. To define COVID-19 infection, it is necessary to make a deep breath through a nose and to exhale in a device tubule. Patients with a coronavirus at an expiratory air have special biomarkers — isopropanol and etilbutanoat. According to developers, the analysis of human breath allows to control quickly and almost without contact biochemical processes that makes the procedure available and safe.
As the acting as the head of the laboratory of physics of IAIE Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science lasers Sergey Mikerin told TASS, by February 11, 2021 work on preparation of certification of the device is carried out. In May it is going to receive the certificate in the European Union, and in Russia this process will take not less than a year as it "more difficult", Mikerin said.
By February, 2021 in Novosibirsk free testing of this device for collecting of samples of data on COVID-19 disease is offered. In particular, such device was installed in the Novosibirsk Expocentre.[1]
