2021: Implementation of a biometric system of face recognition

On February 10, 2021 it became known that the Stavropol state agricultural university (STGAU) became the first university in the south of Russia where the biometric system of face recognition from CST group is implemented.

As it was explained, system implementation became one of joint projects of Sber and STGAU. Bank acts as the partner of university several years, including within implementation of the campus project.

On entrance groups of STGAU the works on installation and setup of a biometric system of face recognition using machine learning and computer vision Vizier which performs detecting and identification of the visitors passing through a tourniquet are completed. When the person comes into the view of the camera, a biometric system makes a cycle of mathematical processings during which of a video flow the image is taken, then is coded in the biometric template containing unique characteristics of the person. Then this template is verified with base of persons, access to which is resolved, and at compliance the tourniquet opens. So access is provided to strictly certain audience.

Thanks to modern algorithms, scale of the projects implemented by group of CST, and our integration with ACS producers, all processes take less than a second, do not make negative impact on capacity of a tourniquet, provide contactless pass. Implementation of our system of face recognition as a part of the campus project can become the beginning of implementation of campus projects through the whole country, at the same time not only in already implemented case, but also others, especially relevant: holding remote examinations, remote protection of qualification works.
