2021: Creating the Ayana Application

Resident of the Yakutsk IT park Nikolai Aprosimov developed the AYANA mobile application based on artificial intelligence, which allows you to translate voice speech from Evenki into Russian and vice versa. This was announced on January 20, 2021 by the press center of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in Moscow.

The Ayana voice platform is a software that will provide instant voice translation of words and sentences of the Russian-Evenki language pair with the ability to understand and process the natural language. The application can translate words or short sentences, the application description says.

As the developer noted, other languages ​ ​ of the indigenous small peoples of the North (KMNS) will also be integrated into the voice translator: Yukagir, Dolgan, Chukchi. As of February 2021, the initial stage of work has been completed: the AYANA platform is connected to Google Speech Text technology. Now the application is available for everyone for free on Google Play, and the App Store. The program is supplemented by a lexical base.

According to the developer, the main task of the application is to preserve the endangered native language, culture and history of the Evenki people.

Nikolai Aprosimov is the successor of the Evenki clan Aprosimov from Ust-Mai, known in Yakutia, a native speaker of the Evenki language, a biologist, and an ecologist by education. Lives in with. Amga, engaged in the development of software and other activities in the field of IT.
