2020: Installation of access control system
In December 2020, Softline completed the installation of an access control system equipped with automated passageways "Smart turnstile" in two buildings of the dormitory of the Lipetsk State Pedagogical University named after P.P. Semenov-Tyan-Shansky (LGPU). This was announced by Softline on February 24, 2021. The common access system is equipped with a facial recognition module with a built-in high-precision body temperature meter. The solution allows you to automatically identify employees and students of the hostel in a contactless way and simultaneously measure temperature by recording measurement data in the system. The use of the supplied equipment will help the university not only increase the level of safety on the territory of the building, limiting access to unauthorized persons, but also reduce the risks of the spread of viral diseases among residents and guests of the hostel.
Prior to the project, security in the building was provided by a checkpoint system, which provides for the verification of paper passes by an authorized hostel employee. Due to the significant influence of the human factor, the system often could not provide an adequate level of safety. But not only did this necessitate its modernization - the pandemic made its adjustments to the work of all public and private institutions in the spring of 2020 . Due to the restrictions imposed, enterprises had to comply with strict measures to protect against the spread of viruses, one of which was to control the temperature of all people entering the premises.
The management of LGPU turned to its long-time partner - Softline, setting its team the task of organizing a throughput system with elements biometrics and thermometry. Thanks to the professionalism of the specialists and the multifunctionality of the proposed solution, the team of global provider IT solutions and services won the competition, after which the equipment was delivered and adjusted in time.
The IP Access Control and Control System (ACMS) was installed in the halls of each of the dormitories. Using facial recognition technology, the complex conducts biometric identification of visitors in less than a second, and the Liveness Detection function allows you to distinguish a face from a photo and prohibit passage through it. The thermal imaging sensor built into the terminal is contactless and accurately measures the human temperature both at the entrance and at the exit. At the same time, data on the time of entry and exit from the hostel, as well as temperature measurement results are recorded in the database, which is accessible by the responsible employees.
When choosing a solution, we deliberately settled on the concept of "Smart turnstile." Unlike standard passing devices equipped with MCDS with a thermal imaging complex, the system we installed immediately personalizes the measurement results, that is, it binds the temperature readings to a particular person. The main advantage is that to make a decision on admission, you do not need to attract an employee, since the entire passage process is automated, and the turnstile itself will not be able to "persuade" to "miss for 5 minutes." As a result, the system allows not only to quickly receive alerts online, but also to form lists of people who have an increased temperature, with the ability to track this statistics in dynamics, and most importantly, initially limit these people from entering the dormitory. This helps to identify and prevent the spread of diseases. To control one-time visitors (for example, guests or parents), it is provided to issue temporary cards with their subsequent automated removal by a card receiver at the exit. In this case, the system, instead of face recognition, activates the setting of additional parameters, such as the control of the presence of the mask and the permissible temperature values of the temporary visitor not higher than 37 °. Due to the fact that this system combines MCDS with biometric and thermometric identification terminals, LGPU received a multifunctional complex that meets all the declared requirements, "explains Ruslan Sharifullin, BDM Softline. |
The MCDS implemented by the Softline team allows not only to solve the problem of increasing the access mode in the dormitory, but also to reduce the risk of viruses in the room. So, the installation of thermal imagers in terminals installed at the exit of the building helped us to further strengthen sanitary and epidemiological control. With this solution, we completely automated the process of passage to the hostel, increased the level of safety, including due to the fact that we were able to completely avoid the influence of the human factor. Thanks to the installation of the complexes, we also significantly reduced the wage fund, some of which went to pay for the work of watchers - therefore, the system will pay off much faster than we expected, "says Denis Buvaylik, vice-rector for administrative and economic work of the LGPU. |
