2022: Inclusion in the Register of Domestic Software
The solution "Universal Digital Billing," developed by Nexign, was audited and at the end of May 2022 was included in the Unified Register of Domestic Software in Class 05.15 "Information systems for solving specific industry tasks." This was reported to the Nexign on June 1, 2022.
Among the features of UDB is versatility: it works with commercial and non-commercial databases; can be deployed in both private and public clouds; provides billing for classic communications services, mobile commerce purchases, subscriptions and offers for SaaS or PaaS model, partner goods and services. The solution is suitable not only for telecom operators, but also for companies operating in related areas, including suppliers of service platforms for the production and distribution of content in digital networks, application rental platforms or services.
"Universal digital billing" is based on a microservice architecture, is scalable, flexible and fast. The product is created in accordance with Open Digital Architecture, fully responds to SID models and integrates with other systems through the Open API.
2021: Start of the project "Universal Digital Billing"
On March 2, 2021, Nexign (part of ICS Holding), a supplier of business support systems (BSS) and Internet of Things (IoT ) solutions, announced the start of the Universal Digital Billing project. Development financing will be carried out both through investments from Nexign and through a grant from the Russian Information Technology Development Fund (RFRIT), an operator of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. The start of sales is scheduled for 2022.
The grant for the development of the Universal Digital Billing product was allocated to RFRIT on a targeted and gratuitous basis at the expense of a subsidy provided from the federal budget. Among the tasks of the fund is financial support and support for scientific, scientific, technical and innovative activities in the field of information and communication technologies. The funds are allocated as part of the implementation of the national program "Digital Economy of Russia."
The product is intended for both telecom operators and companies from related areas: it will be able to use service platforms for the production and distribution of content in various digital networks, as well as SaaS and PaaS platforms.
Telecom operators and service providers need a flexible solution for settlements with consumers, partners and suppliers. This need is due to the increasing complexity of the ecosystem that combines classic communications services and digital services for private and corporate clients. At the same time, the billing solution should take into account exchange rates and taxation schemes, as well as other factors affecting mutual settlements between suppliers and consumers of products and services.
By providing converged billing capabilities, this Nexign development will allow customers to choose between using common commercial databases and switching to open database systems such as PostgreSQL. Thus, a feature of the product will be flexibility, scalability and availability for both large market players and small companies.
Digitalization of various sectors of the economy creates a high demand for billing solutions. The flexibility and high performance of the product will allow Nexign to support the processes of digital transformation of telecom operators. We are confident that universal billing will be in demand both on the local and international markets and will increase the export potential of the domestic IT industry, - comments Igor Gorkov, CEO of Nexign. - Grant support from RFRIT means that we will be able to strengthen the direction of research and development at Nexign, and testifies to the high assessment from experts who chose the best projects during the competition. |
