Baikalwestcom transferred a corporate portal to widely used platform

Baikalwestcom completed creation based on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 of the portal on which automatically completed calendar of events of the company, a news feed, the general storage of documents is implemented. The project is executed by the center of solutions Microsoft of Softline company in Novosibirsk.

Earlier in the company the corporate portal developed independently was used. Need of development of this solution and the available difficulties with its maintenance led to making decision on the translation of the portal on widely used platform.

Using the portal it was going to solve the following problems: creation of the address directory of employees with a search capability by the set criteria; a possibility of a telephone call of the subscriber on mouse click in the address directory; creation of the uniform centralized storage of the documents MS Office for departments of the company; creation of the general nodes of divisions and departments with a possibility of the publication of documents, news feeds, forums.

The structure of the created portal corresponds to an inner pattern of the organization that allowed each division to have own space (node) for information exchange between the staff of department. The structure of a directory service allowed to configure the corresponding permissions to adding and change of data on portal nodes. The alternative system of search allowing to look for employees by a large number of parameters and also a search capability on contents of the PDF files was implemented.

Works are performed without violation of functioning of the services which are subject to transfer on the portal in the course of migration accomplishment.
