2021: Implementation of the RPA platform UiPath

The United Metallurgical Company (OMK), a Russian manufacturer of metallurgical products and integrated solutions for fuel energy, transport, construction and other sectors of the economy, optimizes business processes with the help of UiPath solutions in the field of robotic automation. The company automates those processes in which you can do without the intervention of employees, due to software robots, the development of which is carried out as we analyze the activities of various departments and requests from them, the company reported on March 16, 2021 in UiPath.

As a result of the cooperation between OMK and UiPath, which began at the end of 2019, 16 robots have already been put into industrial operation in the company. Among them are robots for typical storage, purchase and sale operations, the release of electronic hospital and certificates in the form of 2-personal income tax. Robots are also used to generate product quality certificates, which makes the information flow between OMK and customers more transparent, significantly increases the speed of document processing. Taking into account the specifics of production and the products themselves, four separate robots for different production workshops were created to solve this problem.

Among the main requirements of OMK when choosing a vendor for robotic automation solutions were the simplicity of the user interface, the ability to quickly train employees, the acceptable cost of solutions, the presence of an official representative office of the vendor in the Russian Federation and the Russian-language version of the software.

"Any large company sooner or later is faced with the fact that the number of business processes and their complexity is growing, and the time and capabilities of employees remain the ultimate resource that needs to be used wisely," said Svetlana Anisimova, general director of UiPath in the Russian Federation and the CIS. "Therefore, the question arises about the automation of part of these processes, for which our RPA platform is suitable."

"It is still difficult to quantify the effect of using solutions. UiPath This is primarily due to the fact that most of the robots were commissioned recently, at the end of 2020, and we are still analyzing their effectiveness, "said Pavel Ulikhin, head of the BI and RPA Competence Center at OMK. - But it is already possible to say unequivocally that the introduction of such automation mechanisms offloads business units. By robotizing routine uniform operations and redistributing employees to solving non-standard problems with great economic effect, we increase the overall level of labor productivity. Therefore, we plan to further develop this direction and cooperation with UiPath. "
