2021: Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity Implementation Pilot
PJSC "MIKON" assessed the capabilities and functionality of Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity based on the results of the pilot project. This was announced by Infosecurity on March 16, 2021.
In recent years, the number of attacks on industrial systems, especially on APCS components, has rapidly increased. As shown by the practice of enough one infected USB device or downloading arbitrary files so that attackers penetrate the company's internal network. MIKON PJSC, which is part of Element JSC, is interested in ensuring the safety of its own automated control systems, and therefore turned to experts in the field of information security, Infosecurity (part of Softline Group of Companies), to organize an integrated approach to industrial safety.
As part of the MIKON PJSC project, together with Infosecurity, they analyzed network monitoring and control products from domestic and foreign vendors. The decisive criteria for choosing a solution for pilot implementation were the possibility of integration with narrow-profile industrial software that is already used in the company, as well as compliance with the requirements of the legislation to protect the critical information infrastructure. The best solution was the Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity (KICS) system.
In two months, Infosecurity has deployed a pilot virtual system to monitor the safety of the industrial network KICS FOR NETWORKS, configured the detection in traffic of unauthorized network devices and abnormal network flows between them. An important indicator for MIKON PJSC was that the system works with a copy of industrial infrastructure traffic and does not actively affect the company's business processes. This approach eliminates the risks of blocking production processes and large financial losses. In addition, in order to build a reliable system to protect the corporate infrastructure from complex threats and targeted attacks, MIKON PJSC together with Infosecurity implemented the Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack Platform (KATA).
For us, as for many companies, ensuring the information security of critical systems is in the first place, but the specifics of the software of our industry imposes certain difficulties in selecting high-quality domestic protective software. Thanks to cooperation with Infosecurity, we were able not only to choose the most suitable solution, but also to significantly increase the level of information security of APCS and, as a result, the entire company, "comments Pavel Belik, vice president of security at Element JSC. |
The selected vector of information security of MIKON PJSC not only helps to preserve the continuity of the process, but also provides a coordinated approach to network integrity control. Work on a project of this level was extremely interesting and responsible. And we can safely say that we have received decent results and a very useful experience - notes Nikita Pinchuk, Director of Technology Infosecurity. |
