2021: Launch of an inheritance search service

On April 7, 2021, the Federal Notary Chamber (FNP) announced the full-scale launch of the inheritance search service. It is available within the framework of the Unified Notary Information System.

The new technology of interaction between notary and credit organizations is designed to increase the efficiency and speed of the processes of searching for accounts and deposits, making life easier for those who have to enter into hereditary rights.

The bank's response to the notary's request can be received within a few hours after the application. The service also expands the list of banking products that notaries can identify through an electronic request - it includes impersonal metal accounts, depot accounts, bank cells, etc.

The Federal Notary Chamber presented an inheritance search service

Thanks to the new service, the notary also promptly receives information about the testator's debt obligations to the bank. Heirs can immediately see the entire composition of the hereditary mass and, having already evaluated it, decide whether to accept the inheritance or not. And those who accepted the inheritance will be sure that no loans from their relative will go to them.

As noted in the FNP, it is virtually impossible to obtain such accurate and complete information about the composition of the hereditary mass by sending requests by mail. Letters are often lost or delayed somewhere, it often happens that a notary, due to the lack of accurate information about the place of service of the testator, has to send them immediately to hundreds of credit organizations. The digital service of the Single Notary Information System solves these problems.

Initially, the service for searching for the property of testators tested. In Sberbank April 2021, he joined it, VTB launching digital data exchange between notaries and their branches in. To Moscow The technology is planned to be made available throughout the country.[1]
