2021: Robotization of typical processes in logistics
Sveza, a manufacturer of birch plywood, on April 15, 2021 announced the completion of a pilot project to robotize part of the processes associated with supporting sales in logistics. As expected, this tool will allow to 4 times increase the speed of the process and reduce to zero the number of errors in the production of bills of lading to product carriers.
The development was based on the RPA process (process automation technology, which is based on the use of software robots) in terms of transmitting instructions for issuing bills of lading (documents for container transportation) to the carrier. In this process, with non-standard orders, and about 5% of them, there is a higher risk of incorrect issue of bills of lading, which can cause problems for both the customer and the company.
The development of the case took six months. As a result of the introduction of artificial intelligence into the bill of lading process, it was possible to increase the speed by 4 times and reduce the number of errors to zero. The ROI is 4.5 months.
Robotization of typical processes allows you to work with a large amount of data, check each document, and not selectively. In addition, the RPA works faster than a person and is not mistaken, the holding emphasized.
In general, the digitalization of business processes has become an integral part of Sveza's development strategy as an innovative company. The goal is to optimize process management in various areas of activity. So, in 2019, a personnel selection system was launched on the Sever.AI platform using artificial intelligence. At the Kostroma mill, the company launched a training virtual simulator to work out the safe actions of personnel at the most traumatic machine - a birch veneer dryer. In addition, the company is implementing a project to detect defects in plywood using machine vision.
In the future plans of "Sveza" - scaling the case and deploying a full-fledged platform.
"In our opinion, the RPA market has a future, and we see development prospects. Specifically for our company, this is a movement on a course towards organizational efficiency. Artificial intelligence will be introduced in those departments and departments where there are many repetitive and standardized processes that can be automated. By loading robots with routine work, we will be able to more effectively use the potential and skills of our employees on more complex processes that require a flexible approach, "said Vitaly Grishin, head of business process improvement at Sveza. |
