Derways

Derways is an automobile plant located in the city of Cherkessk, Karachay-Cherkessia. The name Derways is composed of two parts: Der - from the name of the founders (the Derways brothers) and ways - from the English. "Road." Initially, the enterprise produced machines of its own design. Subsequently, cars of Chinese brands began to be assembled at the plant: Lifan, Chery, Geely, Brilliance, JAC and Hawtai.

History

2021: Sale of plant property for 1.5 billion rubles

In April 2021, it became known about the auction from which the property of the Dervais plant will be sold. Real estate, equipment and other assets are sold in one lot for about 1.5 billion rubles.

The property of the enterprise includes all buildings and infrastructure - from workshops to the boiler room and sewage collector. This also includes the rights to lease several plots that were used by Dervais. From the document referred to by the publication "Drom," it follows that a total of 97 objects are sold, which are estimated at 884 million rubles. Another 234 trading objects are the movable property of Dervais, namely equipment, the price of which is 606.5 million rubles.

The property will be sold on behalf of the SBC Resource company, which is part of the structures of Sberbank - it is the mortgagee of everything that will be put up for auction. Derways itself is undergoing bankruptcy proceedings by April 21, 2021, and its actual owner is on the federal wanted list on charges of fraud.

According to the publication, none of the former Chinese counterparties of Dervais (Geely, Lifan, Chery, etc.) plans to participate in the auction for the acquisition of the plant. In informal conversations, representatives of Chinese companies that previously collaborated with Dervais speak of it as a "toxic" asset: in Cherkessk it is very bad with qualified personnel, and it is difficult to maintain the plant's performance due to the specifics of the mentality of local workers.^[1]

2015-2018

In 2015, due to a drop in sales of Chinese cars, production at the Derways plant was reduced by 2 times.

In 2018, the company closed, the equipment was dismantled. Criminal proceedings have been launched against the company in connection with tax evasion.
