2021: Nvidia DGX A100 supercomputer installation

On April 21, 2021, Softline announced that it had installed the NVIDIA DGX A100 supercomputer at LETI at St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University. The university received a platform for training specialists in the field of Data Science, artificial intelligence, machine and deep learning.

Softline completed the entire scope of commissioning, created a diagram of the computer system, providing for the possibility of subsequent scaling.

To train students of the Department of Mathematical Support and the use of computers of the Faculty of Computer Technology and Computer Science, the university needed a solution with which it was possible to perform mathematical modeling related to the development of algorithms for testing software calculations.

Based on the results of evaluating the bids of open bidders, the Nvidia DGX A100 solution proposed by Softline was recognized as the best. This supercomputer is a versatile system for all types of AI-related workloads and provides high computational density, flexibility, and performance. First of all, Softline specialists introduced the customer to the functionality of the system - they held a series of events for the university management with a demonstration of the capabilities of the supercomputer. A suitable location for the equipment was then selected after a thorough examination of all areas in operation and under construction. And after all the preparatory work, the NVIDIA DGX A100 supercomputer was delivered to the site, the computer complex was commissioned and the work diagram prepared by Softline engineers and architect was transferred, which provides for the possibility of subsequent scaling.

As soon as we agreed on the supply contract, the assembly of equipment and its subsequent shipment to Russia was organized as soon as possible. In turn, shipping, installation, connection to all systems, commissioning and training of university specialists were carried out in just one working day instead of the three stipulated by the state contract. As a result, the university received a technology platform that includes the best tools for working in the field of Data Science.
