$1 billion deal. Google has entered into the largest cloud contract

Customers: Univision

Contractors: Google
Product: Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Project date: 2021/04

At the end of April 2021, Google and the Spanish content and media company Univision entered into a multi-year strategic partnership involving cloud technologies. According to the agreement, Google cloud computing will be used to grow the Univision media and content portfolio and help it become a media company of the future. It is reported that the transaction amount exceeds $1 billion, that is, we are talking about one of the largest contracts for cloud computing.

Under the cooperation agreement, Google Cloud will help promote Univision's digital transformation, expand Univision's relationship with the Latin American audience, and allow the company to create "leading" content for the next generation of Hispanic communities. In addition, Univision will also collaborate with other Google divisions such as Android, Android TV OS, YouTube, Google Play, Google Ad Manager and Google Search to improve its functionality and audience experience.

Google will help Univision integrate several digital distribution platforms, upgrade the production system, create a new repository of customer data and migrate key enterprise applications to Google Cloud. This will allow Univision to use artificial intelligence and machine learning in its content library to provide proactive and personalized recommendations to customers. At the same time, Univision can establish closer advertising relations with its audience through data analysis.

As the media landscape develops, Google will also help Univision expand its streaming services. Thanks to this, Univision will be able to attract consumers, wherever they are and no matter what devices are used.[1]
