UK "UralChem" implemented Directum

In the summer of 2010 implementation of the Directum ECM system in UK "UralChem" is complete. Recognition of the Directum system the corporate standard of electronic document management of all holding "UralChem" became the main outcome of implementation.

The UralChem holding works at the market of mineral fertilizers in the Russian Federation, the CIS and Eastern Europe. Such large companies as Nitrogen, "Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Works Mineral Fertilizer Plant" (ZMU KCCW) and also a number of the transport and service enterprises are a part of holding. Powers of sole executive body are performed by management company – UK "UralChem". Features of the chemical industry (the knowledge-intensive and difficult production, increased requirements to quality) and a complex corporate structure cause difficulties in work with documents: the large constantly growing volume of corporate information, appearance of new partners, development of the innovation products and production technologies.

In these conditions for effective work of the enterprise and its due competitiveness it is necessary to solve the problems connected with systematization of information, ensuring its security, reduction of time for work with important documents and tracking of the main business processes. Implementation of the Directum ECM system was intended to solve these problems.

Creation of electronic document management using Directum in holding began at the same time in management company and the child organizations. A system was implemented and functions in Azot company, at "KCCW chemical fertilizers plant" and also Uralkhimtrans and Trading house companies. High business indicators of work in Directum, scaling options of a system and positive reviews of users became a basis for making decision on the declaration of the Directum system the corporate standard for all holding. Thus, EDMS Directum became a basis for creation of a common information space in scales of holding, noted in Directum company.

At present Directum implementation project in management company – UK "UralChem" is complete. Implementation was implemented by joint group of specialists and consultants of Directum company and UK "UralChem". At the same time the description and regulation of processes performed the customer's business analysts, and specialists of Directum dealt with issues of automation.

The functionality of "Basic modules" of Directum, modules Office and Contract management was implemented. Using these modules all processes connected with the entering / outgoing correspondence, organizational and administrative documentation and contractual documents were automated. Within implementation the solution on automation of work with powers of attorney became essentially new. Now all complex of the processes connected with approval, transfer and control of powers of attorney is controlled also with Directum help.

At present, in a system more than 200 employees of UK "UralChem" work, automation covered all divisions, remote workers can address electronic documents through web access.

As Directum is recognized by the corporate standard of UralChem, the project team developed uniform forms of numbers and nomenclatures of affairs for management company and all holding. Thus, the basis for integration of the systems of subsidiary companies of holding was prepared. At the beginning of summer of 2010 the project on implementation of services Directum Intersystem Cooperation Services (DICS) which will integrate the systems of UralChem management company and Azot company in Berezniki starts.
