2021: Opening a center to protect government agencies and businesses from cyber attacks

In May 2021, the official opening of a state center to protect government agencies and business from cyber attacks took place. It was called the UA30 Cyber Center.

The project is positioned as the latest state center for responding to cyber incidents, gaining skills and knowledge in the field of cyber defense, which includes an updated training platform with unique technology for testing real scenarios of cyber attacks in the educational environment, as well as the government team for responding to computer emergencies in Ukraine, which operates within the framework of the State Cyber Defense Center of the State Special Communications CERT-UA.

According to Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov, the UA30 Cyber Center will become an important element in the framework of the cyber development and cybersecurity strategy, which will help Ukraine become "one of the strongest countries in the field of cyber defense."

Over the next few years, we want to protect all the registries that are in our state. We have already done a lot for this and will do even more to carry out this project, "he said.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the UA30 Cyber Center will provide cyber protection, detection and response to cyber threats for both state organizations and ordinary citizens. This protection was previously available only to government agencies, they added.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at the opening stated the following:

Rapid digitalization is one of the ways in which we change the country for the better. New technologies, better services - all this leads to the development of the economy and the movement of the country forward, to increased competition and the weakening of oligarchs and corrupt officials. "Cyber center UA30" is a showcase that Ukraine is really changing.[1]
