Viewevo is a Russian startup founded in 2020 that develops technology for interactive interaction with video content. Users of the Viewevo mobile application can get a list of items present in the frame and links to their purchase, thanks to technology that allows you to recognize things while viewing video content.

Piloting of Viewevo technology started in the programs of Channel One "Evening Urgant" and "Fashion Sentence" for goods of the "Clothes" category. According to the developers, the intellectual potential and versatility of Viewevo technology in the future will allow it to be used in any areas associated with the production and broadcasting of visual content: educational and cultural activities, healthcare, services and entertainment.

History

2021: Attracting 400 million rubles of investment

At the end of May 2021, it became known that Viewevo attracted investments in the amount of 400 million rubles. Zakhar Smushkin, chairman of the board of directors of the Ilim pulp and paper group, invested in the startup.

About the deal "Vedomosti" said the representative of Viewevo. According to him, the company has already directed the first tranche to create technology, in the future the funds will be spent on improving the recognition of things in various segments, the development of the Viewevo product and its promotion in the market.

According to the founder of the startup Leonid Blyashov, Viewevo technologies are based on "processing video content with neural networks." However, so far, the application, apparently, relies on the sound track of television programs. The Vedomosti correspondent tested Viewevo, the service recognized some of the things present in the frame, but several times showed the message "Viewevo does not hear the sound from the video."[1][2]
