2021: Start of Lada Granta sales with telematics evaluating driving quality
On May 25, 2021, AvtoVAZ announced the start of sales of the Lada Granta, equipped with the Lada Connect telematic platform, which will allow neat drivers to save on insurance. The corresponding smart insurance programs - UBI (Usage-based insurance, based on data on the actual use of the vehicle) were launched by Ingosstrakh, Alfa Insurance, Consent, Rosgosstrakh and VSK.
When buying cars equipped with Lada Connect, an additional discount on the casco policy will be 10%. In addition, owners of connected cars will be able to receive a discount of up to 30% when extending the insurance contract - depending on the quality of driving, which will be determined automatically based on telematics data.
After issuing an insurance contract, users will be able to see the terms of the insurance program in the Lada Connect mobile application. There he will be able to track his current scoring score for a rollover discount.
Olivier Mornet, vice president of sales and marketing for the Lada brand, said that smart insurance allows you to significantly reduce the cost of the policy.
Until this moment, its development, especially in the mass segment, was complicated by the fact that not all car owners and insurance companies could afford the costs of installing equipment. We solved this problem at the system level, "he said (the press service quoted the company's top manager as saying). |
Rosgosstrakh believes that the launch of UBI programs for Lada Granta with the Lada Connect system will increase stability and stimulate the development of the Russian auto insurance market.
By the end of May 2021, Granta cars equipped with Lada Connect are available for purchase in Moscow and the Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, Samara Region, Tatarstan and the Perm Territory, and in the coming months - throughout the official dealer network.[1]
