2021: Agreement on the Development of Telecommunications Infrastructure in the Region
Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, and the administration of the Kostroma region entered into an agreement on the implementation of joint projects. Among the main tasks are the development of telecommunications infrastructure in the region using modern mobile communication standards and the introduction of information technologies into the economy, Tele2 reported on May 26, 2021. The planned volume of operator investments in 2021 will exceed 200 million rubles.
The cooperation agreement in the sphere of digital economy was signed by the CEO of Tele2 Sergey Emdin and the governor Kostroma oblastisergy Bulrushes. The parties are aimed at the active development of telecommunications infrastructure in the region. The focus of the operator: improving and expanding the coverage area in modern 4G/3G/2G standards, increasing the availability of communication services. So, by the end of 2021, the existing network facilities will be modernized and new base stations will be launched in Kostroma, Donbass, Nerekhta and the regions of the region - Kostroma, Krasnoselsky, Susaninsky, Buisky and Nerekht. Tele2 will allocate over 200 million rubles for the implementation of this project.
"We intend to concentrate on the technological development of the Kostroma region. In the region over the past year, there has been a record increase in data traffic by one and a half times, a sharp increase in demand for Internet in suburban agglomerations, as well as a significant influx of tourists, which is confirmed by the data of our network. Taking into account the geographical and relief characteristics of the territory, the task will be both technically ambitious and socially significant, since it will provide high-quality communication services to residents in a number of remote settlements. We are sure that joint work with the regional administration will increase the availability of telecom services for business, the population and tourists, "said Sergey Emdin, Tele2 CEO. |
In the long term, cooperation is planned within the framework of the national program "Digital Economy" in the region, the implementation of projects for the digitalization of the urban economy and the agro-industrial complex. Among the most interesting case operators: the spread of Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology, the launch of telecom-based solutions for the needs of emergency and service services, assistance in automation of the agricultural industry, as well as collaboration using big data analytics .
The administration of the Kostroma region notes that the modernization of existing and the construction of new base stations make it possible to increase the stability and accessibility of mobile communications. As the governor Sergei Sitnikov emphasizes, high-quality communication is a guarantee that people will be able to use convenient digital services, call the necessary emergency services in time, call relatives and friends.
