2021: Application of Vinteo VKS for online speaker connection

The Roscongress Foundation used the Russian video conferencing platform (VKS) Vinteo to organize the online connection of speakers as part of the business program of the XXIV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum ( SPIEF). From June 2 to 5, the VKS system continuously served up to 35 conferences from 26 forum rooms with Internet connections of speakers and correspondents from around the world. Participants were connected both using specialized VKS equipment from various manufacturers and personal computers. The total time of video conferences for 3 days of the forum exceeded 1200 hours, the number of simultaneous connections of participants in each conference at the peak reached 200, up to 40 images of participants were displayed on the screens of the forum halls at the same time.

Remote speakers of the business program of the forum could choose one of the 9 available languages ​ ​ to participate in the event, the sessions were broadcast in Russian and English. Live online broadcasts of the events were carried out on the official website of the SPIEF, the website of the Roscongress Foundation and in the forum's mobile application. Several webcasts were organized on the Vinteo VKS server for Japanese viewers.

Preparation for the hybrid format of the forum's business program events took more than 2 months and included coordination of the areas of responsibility of the performers, coordination of exchange interfaces with the equipment of other companies involved in the technical support of the event, branding of interfaces. Special attention was paid to the issue of minimizing possible technical problems, typical during video communication sessions (work on unstable communication channels (network) Internet , connection of speakers from closed corporate networks).
