The Roscongress Foundation used the Russian videoconferencing platform (VKS) Vinteo to organize online connection of speakers as part of the business program of the XXIV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum ( SPIEF). This was announced on June 10, 2021 by Vineo. A distinctive feature of the VKS system on the forum is the use of synchronous translation functionality integrated into the Vinteo VKS software server to organize simultaneous simultaneous translation into 12 languages ​ ​ during video conferencing.

From June 2 to 5, the VKS system continuously served up to 35 conferences from 26 forum halls with speakers and correspondents from all over the world connected via the Internet. Participants were connected both using specialized VKS equipment from various manufacturers and personal computers. The total video conferencing time for the 3 days of the forum exceeded 1200 hours, the number of simultaneous connections of participants in each conference at the peak reached 200, up to 40 images of participants were displayed on the screens of the forum halls at the same time.

Remote speakers of the forum's business program could choose from 9 available languages ​ ​ to participate in the event, the sessions were broadcast in Russian and English. Live online broadcasts of the events were conducted on the official SPIEF website, the Roscongress Foundation website and in the forum's mobile application. Several webcasts were organized on the Vinteo VKS server for Japanese viewers.

Preparation for the hybrid format of the forum business program took more than 2 months and included the coordination of the areas of responsibility of the performers, the coordination of exchange interfaces with the equipment of other companies involved in the technical support of the event, and the branding of interfaces. Special attention was paid to the issue of minimizing possible technical problems typical when conducting video conversations (working on unstable communication channels (network) Internet , connecting speakers from closed corporate networks).

In addition to the built-in synchronous translation system, the forum widely used all the main functionality of the Vinteo VKS software server - broadcasting and recording meetings, connecting subscribers via WebRTC, SIP and H.323, connecting video feedback from various manufacturers, moderating participants by the server administrator and conference moderator, video conference layout designer, etc.
