For Nuro, this is not the first experience in Houston, the company's solutions are already used by the Kroger supermarket chain and the Domino's Pizza pizza chain. Nuro also organized unmanned vehicle delivery testing in Arizona.

Representatives of FedEx believe that the automation of delivery will solve the problem of "unprofitable" orders, which traditional couriers are ready to fulfill last due to inconvenient time, route or distance of destination. In this mode, people and robots will be able to coexist harmoniously without claiming to replace each other.

In addition to FedEx, Nuro already has several partnerships with companies such as Domino's Pizza and CVS Pharmacy, but FedEx takes them to a completely different level. FedEx processes about 18 million parcels a day and has a fleet of 200,000 cars.

Companies will be aimed at such delivery scenarios in which a low-speed unmanned Nuro car can provide "the greatest return on investment," Cosimo Leipold said in an interview with Reuters representatives.[1]
