2021: Digital Twin Implementation

Computer Vision Systems is involved in the introduction of a digital twin production at the Seversky Pipe Plant. This was announced on June 21, 2021 by LANIT. The product detects defects on the pipes with high accuracy even at high temperature and continuous movement.

This solution will prevent equipment outages at the enterprise and predict technological processes, as well as formulate recommendations for production management for plant employees.

The development is one of the key elements of the digital production twin and is designed to detect and promptly warn about the formation of defects on the surface of pipes, measure fast-moving blanks, thereby ensuring high quality of products.

Part of the project will be an augmented reality system. AR-support in production will work in two modes - study and technological. The study mode is designed for excursions and acquaintance of visitors with the territory of the plant, the technological mode - for checking the masters and foremen of the workshop of devices, determining the degree of their wear and tear and identifying problems. The AR tracking system allows you to localize in the built 3D model and obtain information related to it from the current location.

A comprehensive project of a digital production twin for the pipe rolling industry is being implemented together with the Skolkovsky Institute of Science and Technology, Skolkovo resident companies, the Skolkovo Foundation and the scientific and technical center of the Pipe Metallurgical Company, which acts as an integrator.

The comprehensive project "Digital Twin Production" is an excellent example of synergy between a startup, corporation and a scientific institute. The four systems laid down in the design make it possible to detect defects on pipes and mandrels, measure the casings in difficult conditions and output reference and process information about the shop units in the form of AR marks,

Cooperation with young innovative companies gives us the opportunity to introduce advanced ideas in metallurgical production, to increase the efficiency of technological processes. The first joint project with the developers of Skoltech and Skolkovsky startups will be implemented at the production site of the Seversky Pipe Plant - in the pipe rolling shop No. 1. It is a comprehensive solution that includes systems for manufacturing analytics, big data collection and processing, computer vision, and hybrid production model management. With these tools, we plan to bring production to a higher technological level, improve quality and reduce costs,
noted director of scientific work, head of the scientific and technical center of the Pipe Metallurgical Company Igor Pyshmintsev.
