2021: Tableau Platform Visual Reporting Development
On June 25, 2021, the system integrator and developer Navicon announced the completion of a pilot BI project at Mon'delis Rus LLC, the Russian division of Mondelez International. Together with the company's employees, Navicon specialists developed three types of visual reports based on the Tableau platform. The commercial department can use them to analyze sales - both its own and competitors - in various retail chains.
Company specialists from different departments are actively working with analytical reporting - some of them need up-to-date and verified data almost every day. These are, for example, employees of the commercial department, because the situation with the sale of certain categories of goods can change very often. However, for a long time, many reports were prepared manually, which took a large amount of time. Employees of the company also lacked visualization elements for more convenient work with data. The company's management decided to test automatic reporting and visualization tools based on one of the BI platforms.
Together with the Navicon team, the specialists of the Mont'delis Rus commercial department compiled requirements for visual analytical reports. Account managers responsible for promoting specific brands and categories of goods actively participated in the discussion. Tableau has been selected as the BI system on which the reports will be based.
During the pilot project, the IT team developed three key reports using Tableau that the sales department needs for daily work and weekly status rallies. Each of them is related to the analysis of sales of Mondelez International products and competitors' products in various retail chains.
{{quote 'While working with Navicon, we highly appreciated the capabilities of the Tableau platform, especially visual analytics tools. Further use of the solution will allow us to completely eliminate the manual collection and layout of data, automate the generation of reports. The development of analytical competencies is very important for us, we are sure: the use of operational analytics is one of the keys to maintaining its position in such highly competitive markets as ours, "comments Nalbandian Andranik, technology development manager at Mon'dalis Rus. }}
Many companies in the FMCG industry use data provided by various marketing agencies. However, the information received from them is not always convenient to analyze in its original form, at least a minimal transformation is required. Navicon has long worked with this type of data: we understand how to process them, how to assemble information from different sources, so that as a result any analytical system interacts effectively with it. We are glad that our experience was useful to colleagues from Mondelez International, and as a result, we created really useful visual reports together, "notes Maxim Ozerov, director of Pharma & FMCG projects at Navicon. |
