In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Safe City agro-industrial complex was launched on the basis of the KorClass digital platform. This was announced on June 30, 2021 by Rostelecom.

At the first stage of implementation, Safe City was introduced in four municipalities: the cities of Nizhny Novgorod, Bor, Dzerzhinsk and Gorodetsky municipal district. In total, 1.6 million people live in them as of June 2021. The information interaction at the regional level included 29 organizations and departments, and at the municipal level - 44.

On the basis of the Safe City agro-industrial complex, 16 existing information systems of the Nizhny Novgorod region were integrated into a single information space, including systems for monitoring and early detection of forest fires, video surveillance, monitoring of engineering structures and others. The solution provides automation and increased efficiency of interaction of the unified duty dispatch service (EDDS) with dispatch services and organizations of the municipal level.

AIC was tested in the region for a year and during this time was able to demonstrate its effectiveness. In 2020 alone, with the help of video surveillance of the Safe City system in Nizhny Novgorod, 265 crimes were solved - four times more than a year earlier.
