2021: Announcement of paid search engine without advertising and with protection of personal data
At the end of June 2021, it became known that ex-employees Google Sridhar Ramaswamy and Vivek Raghunathan launched a paid search engine without advertising and with the protection of personal data. We are talking about the company Neeva, which has already attracted $77.5 million in investments.
Neeva independently indexed several billion web pages, but at the same time indicates in the search results third-party services - Apple, Bing and Yelp. Information comes including from Intrinio, Weather.com and Xignite, built-in mapping - from Google Maps.
What can we do, we'll do. What we can buy, we'll buy. Users don't care, "said Vivek Raghunatan. |
According to the developers, Neeva differs from other search engines in privacy (the authors of the project promise not to collect user data for targeted advertising) and a subscription usage model - $5 per month (the first three months are free), this cost includes applications for iPhone and iPad, as well as extensions for browsers Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and Brave.
By default, Neeva stores search queries for 90 days, but the user can delete the story at any time and prevent it from being saved. The creators of the product focus it on the segment of users who take great care about their privacy and do not want their data to be used by Google or other companies.
Neeva, translated from Sanskrit, means "basics." The search engine supports integration with third-party services, including Gmail, Google Drive, Dropbox, Slack, etc. At least 20% of Neeva's revenue promises to give content-creating partners if their materials are used to directly answer requests to Neeva.[1]
