Softline implemented the systems of the joint communications in Administration of Yekaterinburg

Activity of Administration of such large city as Yekaterinburg assumes accomplishment of large volume of supervising, control, managerial functions for which effective implementation the coordinated joint work of specialists of different departments, managements, committees, departments is necessary (including, in far off the located bodies). For improvement of quality and increase in safety of interaction of employees the management of Administration of Yekaterinburg made the decision on creation of the universal environment of communications on the basis of the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 (OCS) software product.

The pilot project on the implementing solution OCS covered 50 workstations. Works were broken into stages according to the recommendations of Microsoft: development of architecture and the plan of implementation, preparation of IT infrastructure of Administration, implementation of a server part of Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, deployment and setup of a client part at workstations, carrying out tests. Then execution of documentation, including description of architecture, technologies and instructions for work with the program, user training followed: to the address with a client part of the solution (with Microsoft Office application of Communicator), technical specialists – to administration and management of software.

Now the staff of Administration will be able to estimate those benefits and advantages which open before them when using Microsoft Office Communication Server. To it it is possible to refer, for example, reduction of risk of information leak thanks to increase in safety of communications, simplification of processes of interaction of employees and reduction of influence of a human factor by the speed of workflows (there is now no need to remember the phone number, ICQ, QIP – it is enough to know any part of the Full Name, and availability of the employee can be determined by an indicator color).

Thanks to new available service Live Meeting employees will be able to organize web conferences, webinars, the online presentations, distance learning for hundreds of participants, and all this is online. Live Meeting is especially valuable the fact that they will be able to be participants of web conferences both the staff of Administration, and external users, and during the web conferences they will be able to communicate with each other and to work jointly with documents.

In the near future it is going to scale the solution "Joint Communications" on all district administrations. Implementation of OCS and further works on upgrade of IT infrastructure based on products of Microsoft will provide significant cutting of costs for service of processes of information exchange in Administration of Yekaterinburg.
