Rostelecom and the Government of the Novgorod Region agreed on the development of digital cooperation

2021: Agreement in the field of digitalization of the region

On July 15, 2021, Rostelecom announced the conclusion of an agreement on cooperation and cooperation in the field of digitalization with the Government of the Novgorod Region. The document was signed by the governor of the Novgorod region Andrei Nikitin and the president of Rostelecom Mikhail Oseevsky.

The agreement is aimed at improving the level of security and improving the quality of life of people, as well as optimizing the use of information and material resources of the executive authorities of the region and their subordinate institutions.

Rostelecom is an important partner for our region, many socially significant initiatives and projects are implemented jointly with the company. The agreement will allow us to expand cooperation, and the main beneficiaries will be residents of our region, "said the governor of the Novgorod region Andrei Nikitin.

The document provides for the creation and development of information systems in the Novgorod region in the areas of housing and communal services, physical culture, sports and youth policy, protection of the population and territories from emergencies, as well as systems related to the introduction of the Safe City hardware and software complex (AIC) in the region.

Together with the agreement, a road map was signed, in which we included a number of pilot projects. The first is the expansion of the flood control system. They have become a big trouble for the Novgorod region, especially in recent years. We need tools to help us learn about rising water as early as possible. The next project is the territory cleaning control system. And the third is a system for predicting accidents at heating trays. It allows you to determine the section of pipe that is most likely to break through and spend money not for disaster recovery, but to go to the planned prevention of these accidents. The next very important direction is the intelligent video surveillance system within a safe city. This is not only facial recognition and comparison with the base of dangerous criminals, but also forgotten things at train stations, entering and leaving transport in the region. The system will make the territory in which we live much safer, "said Stanislav Shultsev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Novgorod Region.

Also at the meeting they discussed the plan of work on the arrangement of schools in the Novgorod region according to the federal digital standard. The contract for these works was concluded with Rostelecom at the beginning of the month. By the end of 2022, all school buildings will be equipped with video surveillance, storage servers and secure Wi-Fi, and local networks will also have to be completed.
