2021: IT Infrastructure Upgrades
On July 26, 2021, the company, a WaveAccess the Russian IT caste developer, announced ON that it had modernized the production cycle control system for printed materials and finalized the task manager to work with a visual one commissioned by the content Danish division of an international creative agency Envision specializing mainly retail in FMCG.
According to the company, as a system for managing the production cycle of printed materials, the agency uses castom development - the Pplan platform. This is a system that ensures that the production cycle is planned according to a given algorithm and that all its steps are followed, tasks are distributed among the responsible persons, and deadlines are observed.
In his profile on the Daily Jobs tab, the employee sees what deadlines he has. Non-compliance with any of them can lead to a shift in the overall production time, so it is very important that UI constantly pay the user's attention to this. If the employee does not have enough data or material to perform his tasks, he can leave a comment. Employees with administrative privileges can edit the entire production process.
After Adobe announced the end of Flash Player support in 2020, we needed to find a development partner, since Pplan was written in Flex (SDK for creating applications based on Flash). At the time of the beginning of cooperation with WaveAccess, the situation was approaching critical. Flash was only two months away, and we could not afford a day of downtime. We manufacture product catalogs for the two largest retail chains in Denmark. They are delivered to hyper- and supermarkets throughout the country in large editions almost daily. Therefore, the process of their production is very intensive. It consists of more than 40 steps and involves dozens of specialists: production managers, photographers, foresters, logicians. Manual control of such work is very difficult. Therefore, we are very grateful to the WaveAccess team, which was able to transfer the main functionality of the system from Flex to Javascript in such a short time. told Chris Taastrup Mikkelsen, head of preflight and production department Envision |
Subsequently, all platform functionality was transferred to React, UX was optimized and an updated design and UI were developed. As of July 2021, Pplan is used as an internal Envision service, but the agency plans to work with WaveAccess to finalize it and transform it into a product that will be sold to other companies.
In addition to Pplan, WaveAccess upgraded another Envision service - Admanager. This is a web application that the agency uses to control the process of creating visual content. In Admanager, production managers form applications and specifications for photographs of goods for print catalogs and retailers' sites. The photo downloading module and the photo content requisition module were refined.
