In June, 2010 1C-Rarus automated head office of ABBYY company. In a project deliverable a complex ERP system based on the 1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management 8 software product on the 1C: Enterprise 8.2 platform is created.

On a decision instant about project implementation, at head office ABBYY the western automation system was operated. In this system the accounting functionality, specific to Russia, was implemented partially, a number of necessary transactions was not supported. Updates at changes of the legislation it was made with insufficient efficiency. Regularly there were difficulties with development and maintenance – 90% of changes of functionality were necessary to implement by forces of own IT – specialists. At the same time a system had the high cost of support, 20% a year of the cost of licenses.

The company management of ABBYY made the decision on ERP system replacement, having imposed the following requirements to the software product: a new system should not have conceded substituted on functionality of business management and provide accounting in strict accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, at the same time specialists of ABBYY could modify and develop quickly a system with small costs of resources.

The project was required to be executed in a short time at rather low budget, most effectively using internal IT resources of ABBYY company.

The 1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management 8 software product was as a result selected.


Standard program capabilities of 1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management 8 allowed to automate the following types of tasks:

  • Sales management, purchases, stocks;
  • Production management;
  • Accounting and tax accounting: including, accounting of intangible assets and Research and Development, fixed assets, difficult accounting of the VAT (including the VAT on deferred expenses);
  • Personnel management, personnel records;
  • Payroll calculation;
  • Cash management;
  • Management of settlement;
  • Accounting and reporting under IFRS.

Besides in the ERP system specific business processes of ABBYY company are implemented:

  • The cost accounting and money by "estimates", exchange of "estimates" with an external system;
  • Contract management, accounting of parameters of agreements;
  • Conducting settlement by additional analytics of agreements;
  • Accounting of deposits and credits of employees and own legal entities;
  • Accounting of transactions of technical support of users of software products of ABBYY;
  • Management of goods flows, operational accounting of goods in warehouses;
  • Order management of buyers, suppliers with accomplishment control;
  • The cash accounting and settlement in three currencies: IFRS currency, currency of RAS and contract currency (transactions).

Start in commercial operation of 1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management 8 happened in the planned time, a system covers the required volume of functionality and now is in a development status according to the growing business needs. Due to increase in ergonomics of the interface of a new ERP system, speed of report generation and convenience of work with them, users spend less time for routine transactions, paying more attention to business.

More than 100 jobs are automated.
