Batumi State Maritime Academy begins to use PTV Traffic Suite to train students

2021: Delivery of PTV Traffic Suite

On August 10, 2021, SIMETRA announced that it had delivered an academic version of the PTV Traffic Suite software complex to the Batumi State Maritime Academy. The university will begin to apply programs in training specialists for marine transport infrastructure.

The academic license gives the university the right to use for educational purposes the software products PTV Visum and PTV Vissim in 100 workplaces. The Batumi State Maritime Academy, which specializes, in particular, in training specialists for marine transport infrastructure, will teach students transport macro and micromodeling.

Batumi State Maritime Academy is a higher school with international accreditation. The university prepares qualified personnel for work in the marine merchant fleet and marine transport infrastructure. The Batumi State Maritime Academy provides the educational process in accordance with Georgian legislation and the international convention on training and certification of seafarers and watchdog (PDNV).

The delivery of the academic version of PTV Traffic Suite in Batumi is significant for us for several reasons. This is an expansion of cooperation with Georgia, and the application of programs for teaching students is not the most typical area for PTV - for modeling processes of marine transport infrastructure.
