2021: Plan for the digitization of 1700 cases

On August 11, 2021, ELAR Corporation announced that it would electronically transfer more than 1700 cases from the Archival Fund of the Murmansk Region, including the period of World War II.

Cooperation between the Archival Service of the Murmansk Region and ELAR Corporation has been ongoing since 2011 and thousands of cases of two state archives of the region - Murmansk and Kirov - are regularly digitized by ELAR specialists. As of August 2021, AIS DAF MO has electronic copies of more than 57 thousand storage units, which is over 4 million symbols. In 2021, approximately 1700 cases will be transferred to electronic form, while 233 thousand symbols will be created. For digitization, domestic professional equipment is used - ELAR planetary scanners ensure the safety of even dilapidated and damaged documents in the process of working with them and guarantee high quality of copies.

Documents from the fund of the Murmansk City Executive Committee for the 1970s and 1980s, as well as from the funds of the Murmansk Regional and City Committees of the CPSU and the Kirov District Committee of the CPSU of Murmansk during the Great Patriotic War (pursuant to the instructions of the President of Russia on the digitization of documents of the war years) will be digitized, "said Sergey GriRudGriGoryevich Rud. - From the documents of the military period, cases will be digitized on the transfer of the national economy of the Murmansk region to the military fret, on the manufacture of products for the Army, on the admission to the Murmansk port of caravans of ships with goods received from the Lend-Lease allies, on the formation and hostilities of the partisan detachments "Bolshevik Arctic" and "Soviet Murman," on the supply of fish products to besieged Leningrad. From the fund of the Murmansk City Executive Committee, the minutes of sessions of the City Council, meetings of the executive committee, a note, a certificate, information on various areas of socio-economic development of Murmansk will be digitized.

The Archive Service notes that electronic images of documents will be uploaded to the automated information system for documents of the Archive Fund of the Murmansk Region, which will allow users to work with them in remote access mode, without visiting the reading room.
