Protecting business reputation in court

On October 10, 2018, ELAR announced that it had filed Moscow a lawsuit with the City Arbitration Court to protect its business reputation. The defendant in this case will be LLC "" and DIMI-center the deputy general director of the organization Yumasheva Yu. Yu.

As noted in the ELAR corporation, during more than 25 years of continuous activity, the company managed to form a digitization market, implement more than a thousand projects, including national ones, and create a center for the production of planetary scanners, bringing sales of equipment produced by ELAR outside our country.

File:Aquote1.png
We actively support import substitution policies and use our own hardware and software to implement digitization projects. Based on practical experience, knowledge of industry specifics, taking into account the various needs of the industry community, we create scanning equipment that is not inferior to foreign counterparts. The representative of the DIMI-Center company has repeatedly stated that there is no production of professional scanning equipment in Russia, and in this particular case, deliberately misled the webinar audience, consisting of specialists from the library and archival industries. This includes our customers, "the company said in a statement.
File:Aquote2.png

ELAR planetary scanners have a certificate of ST-1 confirming the Russian origin of the product. The company also noted the repeated supply of its equipment to the defense industry and power structures, where the purchase of foreign-made equipment is simply impossible. Russian scanners are also appreciated by many foreign libraries and archives, where ELAR equipment has been repeatedly supplied through a partner network around the world.

File:Aquote1.png
An independent webinar, positioned as a theoretical one, the theme of which was methods and approaches to digitization, conducted by a specialist at the DIMI Center, in our opinion, was organized with one goal - to promote foreign equipment and lobby for foreign products. The "educational" part of the online broadcast is based on false theses that mislead listeners about the exclusivity of equipment characteristics and digitization requirements, contradicts all current recommendations of the Ministry of Culture, VNIIDAD and other organizations. The only purpose of this webinar is to promote the interests of its own company, according to ELAR.
File:Aquote2.png

The conclusion that the company made from the current situation: "DIMI-Center" neglected the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition," abused the trust of the participants of the event and slandered the ELAR corporation.

File:Aquote1.png
We consider this behavior not permissible and decided to protect professional and business reputation within the framework of the Legislation, - summed up in ELAR.
File:Aquote2.png

The reason for the trial was a webinar conducted by a DIMI-Center employee Yu. Yumasheva on digitization technologies and recommendations when choosing scanning equipment, as well as a recording of this broadcast posted on April 25, 2018. The webinar gathered an impressive audience consisting of specialists and experts from the archival and library industries.

2000-2017

The real growth of the Company began in 2000, when "customers are ripe": the demand for the solution of electronic archiving and mass processing of paper documents has finally become a reality. Since that time, indicators have been growing systematically by about 50% per year. Further development is received by distributed specialized equipment, contacts with partners and resellers are strengthened, the turnover of supplies of industrial scanners, robotic archive drives is growing.

In 2001, the Electronic Archive Corporation was created, which also includes ProSoft-M CJSC. The creation of the Corporation based on the experience and knowledge of ProSoft-M was dictated by the growing need to comprehensively solve large-scale tasks related to the creation and use of electronic information resources. Based on market conditions, a representative office of the Corporation is opened in St. Petersburg.

The growth dynamics of key business performance indicators is such that by 2003 the Corporation becomes the largest system integrator in the field of electronic archives, the largest enterprise in Russia for the translation of documents into electronic form. Also enters the leading positions in the field of creating and filling electronic archives.

The volume of work performed in 2005 is comparable to the results of all previous years and accounts for about 40% of the total number of digitized paper pages.

Of course, such a pace of development could not but affect the organizational structure of the entire enterprise. The corporation carries out a planned reorganization: separate industry Departments appear that develop solutions taking into account the needs and specifics of a particular industry.

Exhibition Conference DOCFLOW-2008

Electronic Archive Corporation in 2016 is about 2500 employees. Of these, more than 500 constantly work on the territory of dozens of Customers, scanning documents throughout the country - from drilling wells in the North to ministerial offices in Moscow. They have at their disposal over 200 industrial scanners for scanning any type of document: from microfilms to large-format drawings.

1992-1999

The Company has been conducting its history since 1992, when the computer company ProSoft-M was registered in Russia. There were practically no investments - therefore, in order to gain confidence in the business, the enterprise had to actively work on many profiles of the emerging market alone.

Over time, the features of the current appearance of the Company were outlined. By 1995, the profile of the company was determined in connection with the development of the niche of automation of libraries, museums and archives. It was then that dense work began on the translation of documents into electronic form. There were few projects, but insignificant in volume they could become a sign of achieving a great result for any large company.

A real test of their own capabilities was the project to digitize and equip the systematic catalog of the Russian State Library with an electronic search system. The results of the work showed that the Company chose the direction of its development correctly. And all the experience gained was invested in expanding the range of possible services in the market for the production of electronic resources.

In 1996, the Company's specialists developed retroconversion technology, a pipeline method for creating databases based on scanned documents. In practice, this meant that an information entry section of 20 operators was built like a large factory: each had its own specialization, each operator entered or checked its database field.

However, the Company's supply was somewhat ahead of demand: most still needed trivial shipments of computers. Therefore, some time has passed in anticipation of the emergence of market needs for services of this kind.

Of the interesting projects: the restoration of the scenery of the Gonzago Theater in Arkhangelsky, where canvases measuring up to 5x15 meters were scanned, restored in "digital" and printed anew, or work commissioned by the US Library of Congress on the project "Meetings at the Borders."

Interesting facts

CNews-2008. The most socially significant project of 2007

At the second annual CNews AWARDS 2008 ceremony for the best projects of 2007 in the field of information and communication technologies, the Memorial project [1] of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Electronic Archive Corporation was recognized as the most socially significant project of the year.

The initiator of the project was the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the direct coordinator is the Rear of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, namely the Military Memorial Center of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Electronic Archive Corporation acted as the executor.

The main scope of work was implemented during 2007: about 62 thousand archival businesses were processed, more than 20 million records of Defenders of the Fatherland who died and disappeared during the Great Patriotic War and the post-war period were entered into the data bank. All information is publicly available on the Internet on the site obd-memorial.ru.

Awards Ceremony,
CNews AWARDS 2008

The award to Major General Alexander Kirilin, head of the Military Memorial Center of the RF Armed Forces, and Vice President of the Electronic Archive Corporation Dmitry Shcherbachev was presented by Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vladimir Zhirinovsky.

I am very glad that I am taking part in this ceremony and present the very first award for a socially significant project related to a person, with people, with the memory of them. It is very good that the Ministry of Defense acted as a customer, and experts created this electronic archive. This is extremely important for the historical truth. When the Council of Europe argues about our role in the Great Patriotic War, we will be able to show them: 9 million Soviet soldiers lie in their land. Freedom was brought by our army. I am pleased to present the CNews award to this company. "

IAEA Micrographic Fund Scanning

The IAEA INIS Foundation has the majority of scientific and technical publications published worldwide in various areas of nuclear science. All works upon admission to the Fund were microfilmed and by 2000 about 360,000 microfiches were collected.

Even a small micrographic archive is not very convenient to use, and if we are talking about 20 million personnel prints of A4 pages, organizing operational work with an information resource becomes very, very difficult.

The IAEA's first attempt to translate documents into electronic form on its own showed that with reasonable spending of funds, maximum productivity cannot exceed even 25 thousand pages per year, which is clearly not enough with the total amount of the fund.

Electronic Archive Corporation presented higher indicators - 1 million personnel in 3 months, which was the beginning of cooperation between ELAR and IAEA on the creation of the INIS electronic fund and the organization of on-line access (inisdb2.iaea.org) to information on peaceful aspects of the use of atomic energy.

Creation of an electronic library of scientific dissertations

Created in 1944, the [www.diss.rsl.ru All-Russian Foundation for Dissertation Works] has more than 800 thousand volumes of scientific works, and about 17,000 candidate and 8,000 doctoral works are received annually.

Previously, access to dissertations was possible only in the reading room of the Russian State Library (RSL), the attendance of which was about 100 thousand readers per year. At the same time, most of the readers (more than 250 thousand orders are issued to them annually) are from the regions of Russia.

The need to ensure the safety of a unique collection, on the one hand, and increase the level of availability of this collection for users, on the other, led the RSL to conclude that it was advisable to create an "Electronic Library of Dissertations" (EBD), and the Electronic Archive Corporation was entrusted with solving this problem.

To date, the dissertees have gained access to more than 100 thousand scientific works of their senior colleagues, in total - more than 20 million pages. The project continues today. Every year, EBD is replenished with 30 thousand newly received scientific papers.

To access the resources of the EBD RSL , virtual reading rooms are created in the libraries of organizations. Currently, Virtual reading rooms are successfully functioning in almost all regions of Russia and in 11 CIS countries. The catalog of the Electronic Library of Dissertations of the RSL is freely available www.diss.rsl.ru for any Internet user .

The world's largest scanner

Italian painter, theater decorator and architect Pietro Gonzago, invited in 1791 by Prince Nikolai Yusupov (in those years - director of the Imperial Theaters), created a wooden baroque theater in the Arkhangelsky near Moscow according to his project. The scenery painted by his hand has been preserved there. But for many years they have deteriorated, in some places they have lost a colorful layer, they could not even be unfolded. Nevertheless, the director of the museum-estate Vladimir Dlugach proposed to recreate ancient performances with musical accompaniment. To do this, it was necessary to make high-quality reprints of the Gonzag paintings - to scan the scenery, restore the digital copy and print again.

To create electronic copies, the specialists of the Electronic Archive Corporation created a unique technology for scanning large art paintings and built the world's largest scanner - some of the scenery reached sizes up to 5x15 m.

Together with the efforts of restorers, museum staff and specialists of the Corporation, part of the collection of creations of Pietro Gonzago was restored.
