2021: Otis Gen3 and Gen360 Announcement

On August 10, 2021, Otis Worldwide introduced the Otis Gen3 and Gen360 digital elevator platforms.

According to the company, based on proven designs and technologies with a flat belt of the Otis Gen2 series of elevators, these models provide smooth and silent movement.

Otis unveils next-generation elevator platforms

The Otis ONE digital platform IoT is built into both platforms and is an intelligent interface that determines the operation of these elevators. By collecting and analyzing data large amounts of data from intelligent sensors, the Otis ONE platform is able to provide information real-time information about the operation of the elevator, provide proactive communication and collect predictive analytical data. data Otis ONE technology also allows you to remotely solve many problems. And with - cloudy API interfaces (application interfaces), both programming platforms are integrated with other systems of the intelligent building.

The Gen3 elevators are a digitally controlled elevator platform that combines the Gen2 elevator design with the ability to connect to the Otis ONE IoT digital platform. Otis ONE monitors hardware status and performance in real time - twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week. Information is collected, analysed and made available to users immediately and in full.

Otis maintenance users and employees are fully aware of the elevator performance. The Otis ONE IoT digital platform, with the help of the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, allows service specialists to act quickly, identify and solve potential problems, often remotely, before they cause a failure in elevator maintenance.

Gen3 elevators are equipped with Otis eView displays that broadcast information for passengers and connect them with OTISLINE, an emergency customer support center. Thanks to the synchronization of the elevator with the Otis application eCall passengers can call the elevator and mark the destination floor on their smartphone without pressing the call button. The company also provided for the possibility of installing an air cleaner in the cockpit, and also implemented control using voice and sign commands.

With cloud-based API technology, Otis can integrate its technology with building management software, tenant applications, and even stand-alone robots to optimize the efficiency of the building management system.

Otis uses the Otis ReGen drive, LED lighting and sleep mode in Gen3 elevators to reduce energy consumption and reduce the carbon footprint that the equipment leaves.

The Gen360 elevator includes all the functions of the Gen3 elevator, designed on the basis of an updated electronic architecture.

Gen360

With the Gen360, architects can design buildings with easy to implement flat roofs, since there is no longer a need for additional space under the roof of the cabin or an extension from above to accommodate the elevator shaft. This is possible thanks to the folding platform under the ceiling, which allows you to safely perform most maintenance operations from the inside of the elevator car, and not on its roof.

Many mechanical components responsible for safety have been replaced - by analogy with experience in the automotive and aerospace industries - with electronically controlled technologies that allow for round-the-clock monitoring of equipment, optimizing the overall reliability of the system, as well as placing large cabins in mines. Electronic architecture also reduces the likelihood of getting stuck. If the elevator stops suddenly, the electronic security system gently delivers it to the nearest floor.

The Gen360 uses sensors to detect and prevent potential problems, minimizing downtime. Otis specialists will be able to use a 360-degree real-time image of the shaft to configure, diagnose and solve problems remotely, without stopping the operation of the equipment.

The system is also equipped with an enlarged eView screen, immersion sound equipment that allows you to expand the perception of space, as well as design with more than 400,000 possible configurations and a set of online tools to support everything from design to maintenance and integration with the API.

The Gen360 elevators are designed for residential and commercial buildings from low to medium storeys and as of August 2021 have already been commissioned in six countries. Europe

The Gen360 platform is initially available in Europe, in particular, in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the UK, and the Gen3 platform is available in North America, Australia, China and other parts of Asia.
